Reviving Ancient Skin Boats

Marc and Leah Daniels are devoting part of their workshop in Ferndale to training indigenous youth from the Aleutian Islands to build skin boats—ocean-going paddle boats made of light wood framing covered in animal hide that their ancestors made for over 10,000 years.
